I will be totally honest with you. I am that kind of individual who gets under-eye circles and suffer if few patterns in the skincare regime are skipped. There has been a change in lifestyle post-pandemic like too much screen time due to WFH, excessive Binge watching on the OTT platform, irregular sleep, and no control in the diet. During this time, I developed dark circles and felt like its impossible to get rid of. But Thankfully, after evaluating tips and tricks and following them regularly. I got satisfactory results.

Here are the 6 simple home remedies which helped me to get free from my under-eye sacks and dark circles…

1) Rice water and Raw milk

Rice water being a natural toner helps in reducing wrinkles causes due to dark circles and increases the blood circulation. Rice water when mixed with raw milk applied under the eye results in soft and bright skin. Milk is a natural cleanser and increases efficiency when added with rice water.

Rice Water: Boil Rice – Strain the water and store in any vessel – Let it cool before applying or mixing with raw milk

2) Aloe vera gel and Almond oil

Aloe Vera works wonder with all skin types. When applied with almond oil and left overnight, it gives some long-lasting results in removing dark circles. Aloe vera helps in reducing the puffiness and under-eye patches.

3) Coffee and Honey

Coffee is another natural bleaching agent that helps in lightening the discoloration of under-eye skin. Honey is an excellent solution to deal with wrinkles. Make a paste of honey and coffee powder and apply the paste under the eye. Wash it after keeping it for 15-20 min.

4) Potato

Peel the Potato and strain the water from the peeled potatoes. Apply the solution under your eye for 10-15 min. Tap gently with a finger and keep the solution stored in your refrigerator for future use. Potato has natural bleaching properties which help in reducing dark patches under the eye as well as anywhere on the face as well. This solution is not suggested for sensitive skin individuals. If you feel any irritation by any chance, don’t use it.

5) Olive oil/Almond oil

Olive oil and Almond oil both contain antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which can keep the delicate skin under your eye soft.
Apply either of them under the eye and apply in a circular motion, and leave it overnight. Wipe in the morning and notice the softness under your eye and lightening of dark circles.

6) Baking soda

This is the quickest way to get rid of dark circles in just a few weeks. But it is only suggested for those who do not have sensitive skin and who can follow the instruction properly.

Make a paste of baking soda and water and smear the paste under your eye. I repeat “SMEAR”. Do not rub or scrub. Wash after 10 min and notice the changes.

There are few changes I brought into my daily lifestyle to keep the under eyes under check. The points are listed below which you can follow too:

1) Replace Coffee with Green Tea. Especially black coffee which causes insomnia.
2) Cut Down on sugar
3) Chill and take a break from Netflix ( At least, 1-2 weeks of a break with no Binging)
